    71 days post fractured ankle

    Hi all,
This is Jeannie. On December 22nd I fell and fractured my ankle, a metatarsal and ruptured the ligaments in my ankle. I had surgery to repair it all on December 29th. I am now in a cast/boot and still on crutches. I have started PT and had my 4th session today. This has been a very long, painful recovery. I hope to move to a lace up ankle brace next week but I still need the crutches and am not quite where I hoped to be in my recovery- I was hoping to be sans crutches by now. I sure hope that by next Monday I can walk without them. Wish me luck!

Such a long recovery time with an ankle break/ligament rupture. The key is keeping up with the PT; it really helps.

Sending mojo, good thoughts and prayers that you'll be without the crutches very soon.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I wanted to add that my daughter had a similar injury that took over six months. I really hope this is not your situation.
