    UPDATE "Trad's Mom"

    Aye Mates,
Just a quick update on Lisa's condition after her accident and resulting subsequent broken bones on 2/5/16. Lisa has since had surgical repair of her tibia and fibula both titanium screws (6) and a plate to isolate movement during healing and to maintain stability afterwards.

Lisa was re-examined this past Monday and imaging showed good healing gained. Highly active by nature, her lack of mobility has been a continual source of frustration for her. I did take her out to get her hair cut yesterday, a chance to reduce her cabin fever and socialize with beings other than meself and TRAD. :-)

Lisa was re-casted on Monday and will remain in that cast for four more weeks, likely she will move into more of a boot at that time with progressive load bearing to be added over an additional four weeks, all followed by a regimen of physical therapy.

We both thank ye all for ye notes of support, prayers, and Lab Chat Mojo.

    Slainte,

I'm sure it's miserable for her to be so limited. How much reading, internet surfing, and TV can one sane woman stand, after all? I'm glad healing is proceeding as it should and hope it continues. I know you and TRAD are doing all you can. Thanks for the update.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I can't imagine being thwarted from my usual outdoor activity for that long...it's hard enough for me to obey the healing of a pulled muscle or some such. Lisa is fortunate to have you and Trad to keep her mentally stimulated and enable her to venture out from time to time. Good thoughts continue for quick uneventful healing!

it sounds like she's healing as she should. thank goodness you and TRAD are so helpful! hmm, just a thought, would she be able to do any of her work, from home? it would keep her busy with something thats a needed thing, not just a time and mind occupying activity. But i guess in this day and age, with healthcare and benefits the way they are, if she was to be doing work, the company wouldnt know how to handle that with her being off injured....

Hopefully with the weather improving you can arrange some kind of outdoor outing/activity that she can still participate in, if only from a chair!
