There are non-tippable bowls that are wider at the bottom than the top. Easy to find at PetSmart, etc.
Our new puppy is 9 weeks and water time can be a real adventure. After he drinks he either puts his feet in the bowl or just flips it. Its looking like wild waves in here. Any suggestions? thanks Jerry

I have found this to be a temporary puppy behavior over the years with my Labs. I always kept a folded towel under the water bowl for easier clean up. Fortunately this behavior doesn't last long but I still feel like I clean up water constantly. When Maxx drinks it is like he gets a mouth full of water and leaves a trail through the kitchen to the dining room! My Emma, on the other hand, is a very polite drinker and never slops water everywhere.

I've also found if you do not fill the bowl to the max, it is much less tempting for them to play in it. Make sure Max has plenty to drink by replenishing his water supply regularly, but do not create a pool for him to play in. As they grow out of being cute by making a total mess of everything, they will get over making a play toy out of a bowl of water. On second thought, maybe not...

Max aka Hell on wheels.lol
I swear Bruce thought his water bowls were swimming pools. I finally found a spill proof bowl at a local pet store that he could not flip over. It didn't stop him from trying, but at least he couldn't dump the whole thing!
