    Bad weekend

It all started Friday morning, when Roxy threw up bile and didn't want her breakfast. Friday at lunch she ate and felt fine after that.

On Saturday morning, I took her outside on a leash for a potty break. The weather was nice, but we only stayed out for a couple minutes. 10 or 15 minutes later, her muzzle and right eye swelled up like a balloon! This has never happened before and I don't think she got bit or stung by anything. I was standing right there with my eyes on her the entire time. I took her to the vet and he didn't see any bites or stings either. Allergic reaction to something in the yard? Anyway, they gave her Benadryl and steroid injections. Her face was back to normal on Sunday.

I thought all the bad was behind us, but I was wrong. Sunday night she starts vomiting up all her food and evening dose of Benadryl, then vomits again at 5:30 this morning. I assume it's one of her vomiting episodes that happens every few months. The vets still haven't gotten that figured out and I guess a food change didn't solve the problem. Poor kid! So it was back to the vet today. Ran of bunch more tests. "It could be this.. could be that... maybe this..." Sheesh. We got the usual Cerenia and canned Hills I/D, and they added in some Pepcid. The vet said something about putting her on Royal Canin HP for 3 months. Anyone have experience with it? Doesn't seem like it would be very good for her.

Now we wait for test results...

Hope you all had a better weekend than we did!

So sorry to hear about your girl Roxy. Definitely a rough weekend for both of you. So wish I could give a good comment on the Royal Canin, but have no experience.

Sweet Roxy is in our thoughts here. Sending tons of mojo that your Vet can figure out what's going on. Will wait to hear what you find out with the test results. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, I hope they figure it out too. I won't get the GI panel results back for a week, but should get the rest tomorrow.
