    Annual Beach Run

I took Chopper to the annual Toyota FJ Florence Dunes 4x4 Beach Run this year (Thursday thru Sunday). It is one of his favorite events. We had record turnouts this year. I went swimming in the water with the FJ. It took two winches to get me out. The water was much deeper than expected. Chopper went swimming as well. Fortunately, his 4x4 paws can swim a little better than my rig.

That really looks like fun! Quite a group. Do you have to do anything special with the engine to protect it from the water and sand?

Definitely Chopper can outswim you and the FJ, LOL.

You can add a snorkel. Unfortunately, I did not have one. The outcome was not pretty.

Yikes, poor FJ. I'm sure Chopper doesn't understand the problem. "C'mon in, the water is fine!"

Too soon to tell. No water in the oil. I took the muffler off after some friends towed me back to camp. The muffler was full of water. It's currently at Landcruiser NW. I should know something tomorrow.
