    It is SO Economical

Is it economical to drive 67% further to get cheap gas? Yes, it is when there is a good dog walking place along the way. I did my grocery shopping too, nice when it's cool enough to leave Oban in the car for that. The gas was anywhere from 6 to 9 cents a litre cheaper. And, it was mostly scenic country road driving and no city traffic. The manure spreader ahead of me for part of the way till I could pass doesn't count.

How do you use your dog to justify, rationalize things you do that your poor, disadvantaged non dog owning friends shake their head at?

They're my reason to eat well and be active. I have so many fat, sedentary friends. Get a dog! They make you want to be outside and love life!

DH and I are equal opportunity offenders on this: when one of us wants to drag the other to an event of great interest to the inviter but not the invitee, the invitee will say, "But then Kimber would be home alone for x hours! No, no, you go, I'll stay home with her."

Hemi needed an RV to go to Dog Scout Camp. Which Coincided with I needed a Bigger truck to pull the RV, which then since I had a bigger Truck Hemi could get a bigger RV.

Love these answers. Jeff, I think Scoutpout can match your truck and trailer story.

Sold condo...to buy a house with yard.. FOR THE DOG
Need leather couch- the dog sheds
Need to go to the beach at least 1x a month - the dog loves it
let's stay in Carmel overnight, it is dog friendly.

I can't count the number of times I've been told ... "if I die, I want to come back as your dog." We took up snowshoeing so Cassie could get out in the woods in the winter. We book a week at a campground because Cassie can go swimming there. On the good side, it keeps me much more active and I walk every day like the postman (rain, snow, sleet, hail, rain it doesn't matter). I like Jeff's idea of a new truck and camper. I may need to convince myself that Cassie would be more comfortable in a camper than the tent I've been eyeing the new RAM trucks to replace my Tundra, hmmm.
