    Chili looks quite pleased!
Can other critters come in, too?
My sister in NC once had a raccoon come a visiting thru hers and boy was it fun to watch her via FB trying to get it to leave. The dogs were no help.

Pretty cool, how did you cut the glass or is it a Lexan type door?

It has a hard plastic door that slides in and locks for times when I am not home or asleep. I found a company that used my existing door and just replaced the glass(which was cut for the dog door). I still have the original glass if I decide to restore to stock. I did do some research and they do sell doors that only open if it detects a tag, but I dont need that feature. only creatures in my backyard are birds and bugs/lizards...so far anyways.

    That's a very cool door! I'm jealous!

We love our basic doggie door. Had the neighbors cat use it one time, which was certainly an adventure for all involved...but I don't think it was a very positive experience for the cat, so I'm thinking it was a one time visit.

-photo-22-jpgWe added a pet door that is from Lowe's hardware. It fits into the track where the door is. It's held with about 6 screws and you door locks to the new part. Now this does make the door opening smaller but it's great that he can come and go as he wishes. It has a plastic cover that slides in to lock it down when you are not at home. Sorry the picture is sideways.

just wanted to add, i took my cooking infra red thermometer and measured the glass panes temperatures and the new double pane glass doggy door side(new glass) is 3 degrees hotter in temperature than the original. both are double pane glass...so obviously there is different qualities in glass windows when it comes to thermal reduction.

I love having a dog door. And so do my pups. Chili seems quite happy as well.
