I am no Bill Gates but I do know this.....

this doesn't look good at all.

I am officially on the last HP product I will ever buy again. My main HP laptop which wasn't very old had the HD go in it about a month after I bought it and it's dead right now. I am back on an older HP that I was using to stream media. Looks like it's goner as well.

I see myself in a computer store in the next week or so.......
    Thanks Everyone!!

Can't always believe what Windows tells you. What version of Windows are you running?

You should make a backup anyway......

Had the same issue with HP. I went with a Lenovo this time around and it is a very nice machine.

There are basically only 2 hard drive manufacturers. Seagate and Western Digital. HP uses both so it's not really an issue with HP. This may not be a serious problem and I can help if you'd like.

My Dell did that just a short while ago. I bought a Lenovo...love it. (not a fan of Windows 10, though)

We use Lenovo's at work and they seem pretty solid. I have been looking at Asus as well. This one really isn't worth saving. It has tons of issues and I am just using it as a band-aid. The really. The nice part about today's tech is most of my stuff is in the cloud so even if it dies right now I won't really be losing too much.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Actually HP will use other third party drives as well. I am not a fan of HP hardware.
