. . . is the way that is best for you and the dog.

For over a decade I have read much of what the writer, photographer, and blogger Jon Katz has written about our relationship with animals generally and with dogs particularly. I don't agree with everything he says yet I respect his perspective.

I thought this blog post is worth sharing. While some of what he writes here may be a little over the top this statement is, to me, the key: ". . . and I do believe there is only one way to get a dog: in whatever way works best for you and for the dog. The test is not how righteous we are, but how good a life the dog can live with us."
