Shedding, I think she is embarrassed of her fur

Dakota is shedding like crazy and while I know its normal, her normally rich chocolate fur is in a shambles now. Poor girl. I wonder if its the same feeling as when I go out in humidity lol
I recently began Raw Goats milk and a few other supplements and I also started giving her a vitamin C every day. I wonder if anythign will help speed this up so we can get down to that gorgeous Spring coat.

Mardi is shedding like crazy and not being able to stand for any length of time, it's a challenge to get her completely brushed.

The only thing I found that helped some was a good brush with a Zoom, a bath in luke warm water using the Zoom, then back outside and more brushing with the Zoom. It does get a ton of fur out but there will always be more.

I have a couple girls (one choc, one black) who are shedding like crazy too. The nice thing about my chocs is they normally blow it fast. I wish the blacks let go as quickly...

Chloe’s been blowing coat for almost 6 weeks now. I know eventually she will be done, but she’s never finished in the 2-3 weeks some people talk about. And don’t get me started about the yellow girls, LOL.

2-3 weeks is actually a thing?? thats NEVER happened for Dakota. Its weeks upon weeks. Montana-he was done pretty quick and he was yellow. His fur was not as thick as Dakota's.

Right now she's like a rat-her butt and back legs fur is sleek and thinnish but across the top of her back is all kinds of crazy and it gives her the appearance of a rat. lol. My beautiful Choco-Latte in all her rich chocolaty glory. Poor girl.

It really does happen w/ my chocs. When they let go, they really let go! That's when it's really nice to have the furminator here. But I've also seen once my chocs are spayed, the process seems to take a little longer. Mata (11 yrs/black) used to never shed long but now being spayed, omg...

The yellow girls are probably just blowing their puppy coats!!!

It's funny, but Sophie and Bruce shed the least of any Lab I've ever had. Bruce had one full blowing of the coat when he was about 10 months old. Sophie's last real blow was after her first season. I'll never really know with Bruce, but since Sophie's last blow, she hasn't had another. She sheds a bit, but noting like what I'm used to with my previous Labs.

It seems like since I started feeding the Petkind dry tripe, the shedding has abated. I talked to the manager at the local pet store where I buy all my food, who is very knowledgeable about this. He did feel the food had a lot to do with it. He recommended a few different food for the cat, which we've been using for a while, and he sheds very little too.

While I can't say it's 100% the food, I can't help but think it is.

Hmm ... maybe that’s part of what’s taking Chloe so long. I think her coat is drier and not as shiny as it was before being spayed, too. I knew we would see coat changes, but I thought it would take longer as she’s only missed one season and that only by a few weeks. When Scully got older (she was spayed after her second heat) her coat got really curly along her flanks ... like a curly coated retriever. And oh so thick everywhere else. I have a groomer friend who refers to it as “old spayed bitch coat”.

Cookie started shedding at 3 days old and hasn’t stopped. Sass doesn’t shed as much, but she sheds too. Neither one has had full coat blowing like I am used to with the blacks - it’s more that they are constantly shedding small amounts.
