Excellent progress in Kimber-neighbor dog relations

A few houses down from us, the neighbors have a small yellow mix dog, Kelly. Ever since we moved in, Kelly and Kimber have, when we run across each other, locked eyes and *stared.* You could almost hear the Western gunslinger music in the background, and then Kelly would bark a lot. Kelly's one of those typical Napoleon-complex little dogs, and Kimber thinks she's alpha over everyone. So we usually stand on opposite sides of the street to chat with our lovely neighbors, and don't let the dogs interact.

But yesterday was the most beautiful day and a good chunk of the neighborhood dog walkers ended up walking together as a pack- and Kimber and Kelly ended up trotting next to each other. Peacefully! They did a little sniffing of each other, and licked each other's faces! Kelly didn't bark AT ALL!

I hope this becomes the new Kelly-Kimber normal!

Sounds great! I hope they don't go back to their gunslinger stances if not walking together!

I hope so too! Kimber's adjusted nicely to other dogs if we walk with them regularly, so hopefully we can do that with Kelly.
