    Nutro Ultra Dog Food..advice

So we need to change Baxter's dog food and I was looking at the Nutro Ultra Dog food. The adult food seems pretty good but the adult formula doesn't seem as high in fat and protein as the puppy formula. Can I feed Baxter the puppy formula? He is 6 years old....

Not too many feed Nutro anymore, too many recalls. You could feed the puppy food, but I would just go with a better food.

I'm not inclined to feed the Nutro brand either due to past history. Putting that aside, if you look at the guaranteed analysis of both formulas I would definitely pick the puppy formula. Most labs can benefit from the somewhat higher protein/fat of 28/15 rather than the 25/13 of the adult formula. I find it's best to ignore labels of puppy or adult and just go by what the actual values are.
