    Kamikaze squirrel?

We have finally got around to hanging some bird feeders. We have thistle feeders for the gold finches and 2 feeders full of black oil sunflower seeds.
We have been squirrel free for weeks but they have found it.
Yesterday a cheeky squirrel decided to hang out ON Mocha's deck. We have french doors going out on the deck. He saw the interloper and was not happy. I unlocked the dead bolt and the squirrel did not move. I unlocked the door knob. Still the squirrel did not move. All the while Mocha is barking and bouncing, "let me at him. let me at him! Ok Mr. squirrel, it's on. I opened the door. I think Mocha sailed 10 feet out over the 8 foot of deck and 3 feet high before he touched the ground. The squirrel was juking and sprinting as fast his little legs would go. Rocket J. Squirrel did make it to a tree and survived to temp fate again.
PS. We have not seen Rocket J. today!

No offense, but that's a good way to allow your dog to injure himself. If you need to chase the squirrel, maybe do it yourself or at least calm Mocha down so that he doesn't go sailing out the door.

Our boys love to chase squirrels too! Every morning they jostle against each other at the door trying to be the first outside to get the squirrely. You would think the squirrels would stay away from the labs charging after them but they always come back!

Archie cannot stand a squirrel in his territory, even those on the roof of the garage.

Watch out - if the seed is enticing squirrels, skunks are not far behind lurking in the dark.

We take him out on a leash for his last TT of the night just in case there are skunks or coyotes lurking about.
