    Clips for Tags on Collar

Hi All! Can anyone recommend a strong, durable clip for i.d. tags, rabies shot, etc? I like to change collars for Marlin and would like to make it easier than removing all tags each time I change out collars. I did a search and found a few but not all had great reviews.

    What type do you use?

Wish I could help, but usually use the same collar so the tags are permanently put on, until a new collar is needed.

Hoping someone can give you a bit of help with your question.

I'd be afraid of loosing my tags if not permanently put on. I have people here who will turn me in as fast as anything if the dog does not have tags. Lots of rats here. so hopefully you will get good advise on a strong clip. How about climber hooks? Use them a lot with diving but won't with dog tags. Again dog might loose them. But then again never was fashion conscience with my dogs or my rabbits. Or myself if you really want to know.

    Hope you get some answers.

Our rescue sells the rubits for holding tags so you can switch collars

    Store : Rubits- LRR

We also use a small c clamp link that we can put the tags on and move to collars. Just looked it up online it is called a chain quick link you can find at your local hardware store.

We have a few different collars we switch between, each one has it's own ID tag (usually a name plate riveted on). We keep Daisy's rabies tag is permanently on a no stink biothane collar which we use for the dog park and the beach and I keep Lily's rabies tag on my keychain since it's too big her to wear.

I use the Rubit for Sam's tags. I like the convenience of the Rubit but I think it makes Sam's tags hang kind of low.

Edited to add: I often switch tags on Sam's everyday collars but I use this tag on his Dublin dog swim collar. Boomerang Tags His hunter orange collar from Gun Dog Supply has a tag riveted to it. We use either of these two collars when we hike or swim. I don't like how low the Rubit hangs when we do these activities. I'm afraid it would catch on something and break away.

I second the Boomerang Tags. Love them and no jingle!

Honestly, I use a regular key ring attached to a carabiner. The carabiner makes it quick and easy to change collars (you just slide the carabiner over), and they're bleeping cheap as all bleep!

I looked at the rubit but I like the boomerang better. I was wondering though, if I had a boomerang I would still need a rubit to hold his rabies tag, correct? The boomerang would be more practical for me as Marlin does swim and hike so I too would prefer something that won't get caught while doing activities.
