Glad you all are safe and that your house is undamaged. Those fires just sound horrible.
Finally and Thankfully allowed back in and glad to see our house standing untouched after a 5 day evacuation from a wildland fire storm starting the first day of summer. God Bless our Firefighters.
In 106 degree weather we were able to round up our 3 dogs and both the cats locked them into crates while watching the smoke and flames approach. As soon as the firefighters started abandoning the adjacent ranch I knew it was time to go. Loaded everyone into the truck and pulled the toy hauler out to safety.
We pulled the RV into a pasture of a friend and sat. Waiting still watching the smoke and flames approaching wondering if we would need to go again. Little to no information and limited phone service led to some stressful moments. 3 big dogs, their pillows and 2 cat cages in the heat in our trailer. Glad we had a generator and AC. It was kind of like a prolonged but stressful camping trip and hopefully the only time the kitties need to go with us. Thankfully on the third day, I was able to get a ride into the area with a Border Patrol Agent to check on the house and retrieve a few essential items. Two days later we were allowed to return, still no power other than our generators but at least home. What a way to start the first day of summer, I hate it already.
God Bless our Firefighters and Emergency services and our prayers to all who are experiencing the fires and flooding still going on.
Be Safe, Ron
Glad you all are safe and that your house is undamaged. Those fires just sound horrible.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Glad you are safe and sound. One of our cousins is a Fireman in Fort MacMurray. He was living in firefighter accommodation there, it's gone. The crews fought fires with little to eat and drink, no where to sleep other than a tent, it was tough, they kept fighting fires to save other people's houses.

Glad you, all pets and your house are OK. Yes, God bless those brave men and women who risk their lives.
I have been watching the fires on the news and it is amazing how savagely violent the flames are. It is almost as if someone poured gasoline on the trees and vegetation.

So glad you and your pets are safely back home. I too have been watching the fires on the news and the flooding here in my home state. It was so amazing to see the footage of the fireman caring the little kitten he found in the ruble caring him/her to safety.
I can't not imagine the fear and anxiety of those that were away from their homes and unable to get back to their fur babies. Not to mention all the wild life it is so sad.

Fires all over the place with summer just beginning. Throw in the flooding too and it doesn't look like a pleasant season. Our prayers go out to everyone affected and our Thanks to those helping others.
This is our house safe thanks to CDF aircraft and ground crews.
A Border Patrol friend was on the highway and brought me the pictures.
Thanks for all your kind thoughts and hope we don't have to do this again this summer.
Ron
