    Firepit

As some of you know, we've been in a drought awhile. There's a wind blowing today, about 20-25 mph sustained with gusts now & then. It's a dry, hot wind about 10-15 degrees below a blast furnace, (yes, I've been inside a blast furnace). The creosote brush is browning up, the temps are triple digit, IT's SO FRIGGIN HOT AND WINDY, the RATTLESNAKES won't even come out of their holes to sit in the shade!
The place has been on a high fire danger, all the county camp grounds even up in the mountains where its cool, have red tape around the rings and BBQ grills.

So my doy-doy son just called and said, " hey dad, can we bring hotdogs and marshmallows over for a campfire tonight?" (I have a rock fire ring in my yard) it was the thought that counts, he wanted to come over for Father's Day early.

we settled for hamburgers at his house inside tomorrow. Lol

What are you doing for your father?

My dad passed away 12 years ago but both of my brothers are Daddys, we are all going out to the lake for some boating and tubing fun

We're celebrating Father's Day for all the fathers in our family, my MIL's birthday and my youngest daughter's wedding anniversary with a picnic at my oldest daughter's house tomorrow. Hope it cools down a bit for you soon.

I hear you. One spark and it's all over. My husband used to say that we lived in a dryer. As in, just drape the clothes over the line for ten minutes and they'll be dry.

    Happy Father's Day!

So glad you all can get together. The fire pit was a good idea, it's a shame it is so dry.

Remembering Dad, gone less than a year ago.
