Guess who is now allowed to sleep in the bedroom?

... and it only took seven years!

My hubby comes from a farming background and had only been exposed to working dogs when we were waiting for Tilly to arrive. The week before she came, I was crossing off the checklist everything we needed for her and hubby added a long steel chain to the list. When questioned, he advised it was to tie her up to the clothes line at night - um, nope, uh uh, that is so not gonna happen.

Me - um, we are getting her in the middle of winter and she's going to be outside when we are at home? OK, he agreed she could come into the back room where there are floorboards - um, but we are in the lounge with the heater on - OK, she can come in there only when we are awake, um it's cold outside and she and I will fret, OK, she can sleep inside - but only in the lounge room.

And now hubby complains about the snoring!! At least he knows what I have listened to for years.

Seriously though, he is a good stick and they adore each other. Oh the power of a gorgeous lab and the saying 'happy wife, happy life'!

    Cheers, Kim

Think its the combination of a gorgeous lab and a persistent wife. Your hubby definitely sounds like a good stick. Learned another way to look at a dog through you.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

So, in another year do you think she will be on the bed?

I bet if Tilly didn't want to sleep in your bedroom now, your hubby would go and get her - despite the snoring!

Good girl, Tilly - persistence pays off!!

All it takes is a couple of looks from those big brown puppy eyes.

Labs need to be with their family. They are family members!

That's so funny. My husband was similar when we got our first two. He informed me that they would be outdoor dogs. I just told him that they wouldn't be and it went from there. They don't get the bed because we wouldn't all fit but they have always been with us.
