I have missed a couple of saves like that too, with Oban and the cats. The OH one time too. Nobody got hurt, at least not a lasting physical hurt, they all seemed embarassed. It's more scary when they're older and more fragile.
omg. She has always slept part of the night with her back against the edge of the bed. I always have to put my leg there like a curb so she doesn't fall and I sometimes move her. I like it when she is in the middle of the bed so I don't have to worry. Last night she was so close and just as I was about to move her-boom-she fell off. SHe had been in a deep sleep and dreaming. I flew off to her and she was laying there just looking at me then she started to shake. She got up and walked to the door with her tail between her legs shaking. I was talking to her the whole time to soothe her telling her its ok, mommy's got her...and finally we got back on the bed. I was afraid she hurt herself, but it turns out she is fine. My goodness though. In 12 years I have always saved her...from now on I will just move her to the middle, no more counting on my legs as a curb. Poor princess.

Yeah I was afraid she may have injured her spine or broken a leg so I gently touched her all over & there was no flinching or anything so I helped her back up. But boy what a scare at 2 am!
Aww ... poor baby. Sassy has fallen off my DD’s bed several times, but she is young and flexible so not as scary. One time though she got trapped in a corner and needed help getting back out, LOL.

Scary! Kimber sleeps in between me and DH. When she naps on the ottoman, I put out my leg as a barrier. She's 11 so we're extra careful with her.

What an awful way to be woken up, for both of you! Glad she is okay. Maybe she can have some extra treats today?

Poor thing, she really scared herself and you. Glad she is OK.
No falling out of bed but Archie woke me up at 3am this morning yacking - UGH!

Personally I would put a nice bed on the floor next to your bed. The risk of injury increases a lot as they get older and falling out of bed can be dangerous

Oh, that's scary. I'm glad Dakota's okay.

Poor Dakota I am glad that she is okay and you both have recovered from the scare.
I noticed as Sarah has gotten older she sleeps closer to the edge of my bed too, and yes she has fallen out. I usually check her and move her in closer to the middle. Thankfully Ginger sleeps in the middle of the bed I worry more out her falling out since she is smaller and has farther to go.
