    So Sorry Little Bird

Went into the garden shed this evening and it stunk, horribly. Glanced around and found a small wren who has passed away.

Almost every day the shed door is open with me being busy in the gardens. The finch feeder is not far away. Apparently this little buddy was in the shed when it got closed up. With the extreme heat of the last few days and me still healing, I have not been in the shed.

I'm so sorry little birdie. Rest In Peace

I hate it when something like this happens. I always feel like somehow it was my fault, even though in reality, it's only nature doing what it does.

Sorry little birdie. It makes you feel terrible when something like that happens.

Poor wee birdie. We have one or two little bodies a week, moles or chipmunks mostly, that Joey gets. Joey or Chinny did leave one under the deck, peee-ew. We have saved a few wee chipmunk lives but those cute little things seem to have a death wish, the way they act.

I found a dead humming bird in our garage. Broke my heart. I have rescued a few too. Such a beautiful creature.

POPTOP, I have a woodpecker making holes in the wood shed and storage barn, went right thru 1/2" sheeting board, if you want a replacement I'll send him to you.

aww. i found wee baby bunnies under my deck stairs last week - unfortunately only 1 was alive. Hadn't seen mom for a couple days, had no idea she had babies nor that they'd gotten up under the deck-Scout keeps a pretty good patrol there (hence the skunk episode 2 weeks ago...) I called the local wildlife rescue place, they gave instructions for its care for the night, and next evening baby bunny went off to the wildlife people. Hasnt' happened yet this year, but last year i found a hummingbird dead in the hangar one morning, it must have flown in while the door was open, and no one noticed it (and thankfully it didnt set off the alarm like the previous bird did in the middle of the night!). so sad.
