    Heavy Heart ...

    Cosmo has never been a great chow hound, but when he refused two meals in a row and some serious vomiting, I dragged him off to the vet on Monday morning.

    We were back and forth to the vet all week for tests and the best guess was a tumor in the duodenum. He went all week refusing all food, and the only fluids he took in were subcutaneous fluids administered at the vet's.

    Even if I had unlimited funds, I wouldn't have put him through another invasive treatment. He never really bounced back from the TPLO surgery last December. It was as if he knew exactly what was going on, and just shut down.

    So, this morning, I took him to the vet for the last time. He was 8 1/2 years old, and was Clover's sidekick. He was probably one of the sweetest dogs ever and I'm going to miss him terribly.

    When I get my act together, I'll post a tribute in the Rainbow Bridge section.
