Baby's first show

Well, I'd say so far so good might be an understatement!

Wednesday morning Rowan's breeder was picking her up to take her to the speciality weekend. 3 am, diarrhea in her crate. Hubby got up with her and cleaned up (bless him!!! I had to work in the morning and he was off) and stayed up to let her out as needed. She was still bright and bouncy, so we were hoping she'd either overheated the day before or gotten into something. Let the breeder know when I got up at 6, and she decided to still take her but not show her if she seemed off. Offered rice and pepto for breakfast, and so far so good.

Breeder picked her up at noon and had her home about 10 minutes, and I got a text at work "call when you can please." I'm thinking no worries, I'll call when I get off. Well, next thing I know hubby is phoning saying I really need to call her... NOW! I step away from my desk and call, and she tells me they're on their way to the vet's. She let the dogs out to pee on her acreage, and Rowan found barbed wire and split her ear open. Oh my... okay, well, she's insured. Let me know how you make out. I got a text a bit later with a picture of the most beautiful suture job, and the vet left a little bit open top and bottom so it could drain without having to put an actual drain in. She's in a cone for a bit, and has a few days of pain meds and a week of antibiotics. Okay, fair enough... what a start to the weekend!

The show weekend got rolling yesterday with the LRCC regional speciality. I got a text middle of the day that Rowan won her sweeps class out of four female baby puppies. There was much rejoicing. End of the day as I was driving home the breeder called. She was crying. Best baby puppy in speciality!!! She has two more days of showing, today and tomorrow, for the LRCA speciality, so I'm waiting by the phone for news. I want to try to go out tomorrow, but she's such a momma's girl that I may have to hide while she's in the ring lol. The weekend had a rough start, but so happy with the outcome so far!

Congratulations! Sorry about the ear, I hope it heals without any deformation, and she is back to good as new!

I saw that picture on Facebook yesterday, she had the cutest cone I have ever seen, with cute sayings all over it.

I know, I've never seen one like that either, and I love it! Breeder says she's using it as a weapon (just like Raodi lol).
