Linus went four for four this summer to earn his AKC Junior Hunter title today. He gives 100% because he wants to, not because he has to, and he has so much heart. I know he'd run through fire for me if I asked him to. He's been a fun, sometimes challenging dog to train and has taught me so much. This is a first for me, too, so I am thankful to have a dog that succeeds in spite of me, not always because of me.
I was going to stop at our JH and have been working just a little on advanced training, other than the foundation a dog gets from working at higher level obedience. I met a judge at one of our tests who has really been pushing us to keep going and invited us to some group training so I can get more work in, especially since my instructor spends half the year out of state. So, I'm going to work on it. I'll be fun to see where we end up!

Great job!!! Keep moving forward, work towards taking each other as far as you CAN go, not as far as you THINK you can go!!! There is no doubt you two can make it to the next level and above!

Thanks! And he is, we are, enjoying it. One of my issues was space (the other is time, but nothing I can do about that!). For the upper levels, as you probably know, you need room, bigger than a backyard anyway. So, the group has access to different fields and they are local to me (hellelujah!). My trainer is almost two hours away and he's gone half the year. They are a nice group. Really small, easy going, super supportive, no pressure.
He does look serious, doesn't he? He's thinking, "What are we doing right now and are you to let me in that water behind me?"
Thanks! That's a nice thing to say. This is just for fun and learning new skills for me, as a trainer. Obedience is where my heart/time/effort/money is. I would say that for Senior we are about halfway there, but the other half is pretty tough! I would not plan to run in Senior for another two years (at least) with the amount that we (don't) devote to training for the sport.
