    If you could go anywhere...

If you could go anywhere in the world on an all-expenses paid vacation, where would you go and what would you do?

New Zealand! I've heard it's like a mini-version of almost every geographical feature, so I'd just sight see a LOT.

Some of the capitals (or major cities) of Europe (Paris, London, Copenhagen, Prague, Stockholm, Rome, etc.) visiting each city's major attractions (e.g. the Louvre in Paris, Roman ruins & Vatican in Rome) + small shops/bistros to get a feel for their different ordinary peoples.

Tuscany, maybe. I think I'd like to hire Anthony Bourdain and let him be my tour guide. He went to some interesting placed in Asia and South American I would like to see!

Like Kimbersmom, New Zealand. It's been on my bucket list for many years. Want to stay on a horse ranch there. Also, in the town of Marlborough there is an artist I would love to get one of his paintings.

All over Italy, sailing off the beaches of Croatia and the Maldives. Someday when we don't have pets, we'll be able to travel more and actually go to these places.

My list right now (I've traveled to, and lived in, some of these places, but these are places I'd like to visit again, or see for a first time):

Japan. I lived there for a few months as a teen on my own, but I'd like to go back for about three weeks now. I'd spend time in Tokyo (which is where I lived, and which I loved), but I'd also travel to more of the countryside, as well as visit Kyoto, which I've never seen.

Iceland. I went there for the first time last April, but I'd like to go back for about two weeks, to explore more. It was absolutely amazing.

Portugal. Was in Lisbon once for two days, which was idiotic (I was visiting a friend in London, she had to go for business, so I flew down w/ her). I'd really like to see more.

    Morocco. Have never been.

Egypt. Have never been. Cairo, yes, but I also want to see Alexandria.

Tunisia. As above. Never been. I desperately want to see Carthage.

Greece. I've spent a lot of time there, but it's one of my favorite places in the world. A month in Greece would be pretty Ok right now.

Sicily. Have only been there once, for ten days, but it was amazing. Mindblowing.

Israel. I've spent a huge amount of time in Israel, but haven't been back in a few years, and I miss it like crazy. One of the craziest, most beautiful places ever. And while there, I'd definitely get to Petra in Jordan.

    South Africa. Never been.

I'd add Turkey to the list—I've been there twice—but right now Turkey scares the bejesus out of me, so it's not on the list.
