    Well, Well, Well

I haven't taught our seniors they could not get on the couch. In fact, Potion, Bandit and Melody all had their favorite spots on the couch. However, I do not teach it either. As they age and getting up is difficult it's pitiful to see them want to get up and not be able to (that's when I'd give their butt a boost) and being worried to death about an injury jumping down. Mardi never got up and Archie has shown no inclination to either. DH was in another room and I was in the kitchen and when we walked back in the living room this is what we found.

I'm not quite certain, but is this OK Mom?

    Yes, it's OK big boy.

    Ah, this is comfy.

Got to go find the couch cover!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I would say that it is not only OK but welcomed. Archie needs the companionship of being up there with you and I think you would like to cuddle up with him.

Last picture he looks so content and relaxed being up where he is not quite sure if it is OK- go give him a big hug and smooch!

LOL, I like the series of pictures. Reminds me very fondly a night long time ago when Hemi first jumped into bed with me. He woke me up and was like, this ok dad? Which I just put my hand on his head rubbed his ears a bit he relaxed and we dosed off. He has not spent a night out of my bed since. He gets up and down through out the night but he always starts in my bed.

That's great! Now you can get a cat so it can steal Archie's bed.
