I'd have done the same thing. I can't imagine why the owners would let the dog play like that.
Have you said something like this to save another dog from your own dog? WE met a lady with quite elderly parents and her dog. I'm not sure what her dog was but maybe a very heavily boned, small Lab who had been shaved. Her coat was really long and thick. Anyway, the dog seemed happy to meet Oban and the lady commented that finally she was acting happy. She was bouncey with him. Then she just sort of collapsed down on to her bum and her back legs slid under her. Then I commented on the harness and was told she'd had spinal surgery, couldn't wear a regular collar and was now 13 years old. That's when I said the title, adding I didn't want her to hurt herself. I felt badly, Oban was good with her, not bouncey himself, they seem to know when a dog is older, and she was so nice but we said have a nice day and left.

I'm with you. I, or Archie, would hate to be the cause of an injury with them just being dogs.

Yeah, I felt a bit rude and mean. Barry, we were at our Vet later that day and she said the same thing. I think the lady was just so pleased to see her dog acting happy. I know I let Oban do things sometimes that the Ortho Vet said not to because he's a dog and he doesn't understand. But spinal injury, that's more serious than limping, I think. Another spinal injury might be the end of your dog.
