How I Made My Lab Happy Today

I was roasting a duck for our Father's Day dinner. I gave Jake the duck's neck (raw). Happiest dog ever.

Nice to hear everyone, including Jake enjoyed your Father's Day meal. By your comment on Jake, sounds like he showed you how happy he was. Hope everyone else had a very lovely dinner.

Yep. I made roasted duck (seasoned with Chinese five spice, orange, ginger, and garlic), sweet potato and onion hash (cooked in duck fat), and rainbow chard (for our garden, also cooked in duck fat). Our 5YO boy ate as much duck as his daddy did, as well as decent servings of hash and chard. Then he loudly told us, "I liked my dinner today!" This morning he told me, "I liked my dinner last night!"

Jake loves Father's Day too getting a special snack.

    Sounds like a lovely dinner.

That's great that your 5 year old loved duck. Good for you for giving him the experience of trying something different. Believe me, if I said duck to some of the city kids here, they would look at me and say "yuck". Not in a happy meal I guess.

Glad you and your boy had a great father's day together. Along with the pup!
