    Nikki ate soap. Really.

I was washing the soap dishes and had put the soap on a paper towel next to the kitchen sink. Left the soap dishes to soak and went into the living room. Came back and Nikki had pulled the paper towel down and grabbed half a bar of soap.

    It was gone. Completely gone.

Fortunately, I am allergic to perfumes, dyes, chemicals and many preservatives. I can only use Ivory soap. Turns out that Ivory soap is like Crayola crayons. Anyone can eat it and they'll be fine.

We're renaming her Ivory. Or Dork. Not sure which. I can't believe she did that.

Well I guess she won't be giving you any backtalk. Gosh, do parents use that expression now and do they wash kids mouths out with soap? Don't know about Ivory, or any soaps these days, but soap used to have animal fats in it. Jet ate soap when she was a puppy and it was a problem on camping trips with mice and squirrels, wasn't just the food we had to safeguard.

Lark ate a bar of hotel soap my husband brought home. It kind of had a nice sandalwood scent. She has since tried to liberate the soap from the bathtub but I'm on to her wily ways!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

It never ceases to amaze me in what a Labrador will eat. Goats.

Right? They are the goats of the dog world. Daisy just ate butter the other night (you can see another trhead for that). Only a bit of vomiting. Hopefully Nikki (or Ivory) will just poop it out.

It went right through just like it was a snack. Unbelievable.
