Eastern wild turkey poults I watched feeding in a large agricultural field this afternoon, narry a seed, cricket, nor grasshopper was safe. :-)

Had old Benjamin Franklin gotten his way, the Eastern Wild Turkey would have been the national symbol of the USA, NOT the American Bald Eagle.

Raised a clutch of wild turkeys. Farmer came across the eggs while plowing and since I had an incubator he brought them to me. Cute chicks, OK teens but obnoxious adults. They would chase anything including cars. One finally got hit. Man and his son came to my house to apologize, after having cleaned the bird, to give it to me. I told him he bagged it, it's his.
