The Internal Clock or Sense of Time Amazes Me

I am working at home on Wednesdays. I took Georgia for a walk at 11:00 am twice to beat the heat as our route is still somewhat shaded at that time. Well now when its 11 on a Wed. she is at my feet looking at me saying it's time go. She knows what day it is and what time it is.

We also have several walking routes but hadn't used a couple of them because they are longer and Cooper wasn't able to make it. We hadn't been on one route for at least two years. On Saturday we went that route and she sat at the two corners where she used to get a treat. She's like this is my treat corner and we aren't going any further until you cough it up.
    Thanks Everyone!!

It is surprising how much they can learn and remember. They're smarter than they seem at other times!

It is uncanny how they can tell time. When the time changes it is almost pandamonium when their dinner time passes with no food!

They are amazing with things that become routine. I swear that a couple of mine could tell time, if dinner was even 5 minutes late, they would sit right in front of you giving you the stink eye.

If dinner is late, Macy will crawl up on my lap and stare me down. Did I mention she's a 90 pounder?

There's a time change coming up. While we enjoy the extra hour to sleep they will be completely out of whack when all meals and walks are an hour later. Mine love the spring change though, everything then is an hour earlier.

I read somewhere that one hypothesis as to how they tell time is through scent degradation. For example they know when you are “supposed” to be home because of how much the scent has degraded since you left - when it gets to a certain level of ppm, it’s time for you to get home. Don’t know if it’s true, but it was pretty darn interesting!

I love how much they can remember especially if it is something fun that is only done once a year or like your walking path that you haven't taken in a while, amazing.
