    The basement continues

well, the breakdown is complete and the abatement team was happy. thank god for small things.

the cement guy, who i finally actually spoke to once, has not returned my calls. can it be that they are so busy, doing tinted indoor cement that they don't call back?

i cant start the rebuild until the floors are done.
now i am getting cranky again.

You have me totally scared about our planned redo of our basement.

Hang in there. It's said that a house/room redo is one of the most stressful events.

coming at7, as the air has to be tested before they can finish the abatement.
makes me wonder if the air doesn't test well, and we slept here…….

Hoping nothing comes up bad with the air test. Definitely something you need to know as you have been sleeping there. Bad enough the basement was trashed, but now worried about what's silently growing there.

so, the air test guy comes late, and futzes around putting his testing things all over and i ask "when are the abatement guys coming?" because there is no way i am staying locked in the room all day with the dogs, and he says "the test has to get to the lab , five minutes away, and if it's ok, they will be here. " uh, what does that mean, if the air is ok? so he explains, that if it isn't ok, which now is thrilling me nearly to death, they have to come anyway and reclean before they can finish the rest of the abatement. um, will they be here by ten, because i already dropped off my wash at my ex husband's house (the stuff that i don't dry) and have to pick it up, and the laundromat was closed at 8 in the morning and i have to go back with the big wash, as tomorrow i take my niece to sloan for the day and now i am getting twisted. oh, he assured me they will be here by 10.
    just shoot me already.
oh yeah, eli just barfed on the carpet from playing like a freaking lunatic. just what i needed now.

You can make even the worst situations amusing!
I haven't heard the word "futz" since I left NY. Wishing you well and am hoping your saga will end with a beautiful remodel.
