I remember the day I brought you home. You were 8 weeks old, and smart as a whip. You never chewed, never got into trouble. You were the perfect dog. So perfect in fact that you inspired the love of labs that has seen several brothers and sisters since then. I love them all in their own way, but in labby behavior will never measure up to you. You LOVED your ball, and your frisbee. You taught your human sister how to walk, and throw a ball, then did that same thing again with a sister ten years later. What a kind and patient girl you were. Even when your joints made it terribly difficult yo walk, you were happy to greet me each morning, and lay with me at night. You never complained. I knew you were in so much pain. When the day finally came to end all your suffering, I tried to explain things to you. I really hoped that you would understand. I told you that the Vet would be here soon to help you.You silly girl. You smiled at me, snuggled with me, and gave me a kiss. Still..... you thought of me. You did go quietly into that good night. You have earned your sweet sleep. Rest well sweet girl. Know that we will always love you, and miss you so much. There will never be another like you. I love you,
