Talking Southern California/AZ/Southern Nevada Lab Lovers... Report Here!

Alright- I know I keep starting threads about different ones.. but it seems like there are a little more options.. (More people, more places..etc..) if we do the SW LabFest in So Cal.

Jen (Jstarr66) and I are going to start looking into a couple places.. but if anyone has any suggestions.. here is where to post it!! We were thinking about a weekend in September? So we will need to see WHICH weekend is the best for everyone..

Sept 11th-12th

Sept 18th-19th

Sept 25th-26th

What does everyone down here think??? People in AZ, Southern Nevada... or anywhere around here that is willing to make the drive is welcome too!!!

I think the weekend of the 11-12th would be good. We could have it in Balboa Park in San Diego. It is huge with trails and shade and tables..

Well I moved this one from the General Chat section, but you already started another one. So until someone gets in here and cleans this mess up, ignore the other thread. I've asked Burtman to stick this one.

September is too soon for us. Our calendar is already full. (Gosh how scary...we don't even have "human" kids yet)!

Dates in the middle of October work better...

September would work for us. But I don't have any ideas as to where.

The first 2 Sept options are fine with me. Balboa Park in SD is a good idea.

How about this place: http://www.dogbeachsandiego.org/about/

I haven't been but have been dying to go! I would love a day at the beach!

Dog Beach in OB is ok but not the best place. I have a lot of friends that have taken their dogs there and the dogs have gotten sick. It's pretty yucky.

I hear there is a beach on Coronado that is much nicer for dogs and much cleaner!

But that is just my personal opinion.

That one looks beautiful Jen... but all three look great... September 11th or 18th are also better for me.. as I have another vacation coming up on September 30th. I know these places of off-leash, but I will probably keep Kali and Heidi on one.. they tend to not listen when all three get together and start running off... Pebbles will be fine, but I will have to keep the other two on leash.

Also.. I dont have ANY idea where their copies of the current licenses.. do they check them as you come in?

Coronado sounds nice but I don't know if I would want to plan a day event there if there are no public restrooms for people. I think most people will be traveling some distance to get to this event and you'd have to be comfortable for the whole day. Just my

Lisa, btw, I have never had anyone check my licence at any of the dog parks I have gone to...or any place for that matter....I know you should have them, but if you don't, it's probably not critical....

Since most people want to be near the water.. we could have it at Mission Bay. It's at the water, they have gazebos for shade, public bathrooms and its nice and clean. I agree with the post about the OB Dog Beach.. it is really dirty even the bathrooms. Also in Coronado its hard to find parking, no bathrooms and there is always lots of people.. Just my
