You can participate in any organization's events without being a member of a club, but DockDogs is the only one that has local clubs that you can practice with. These local clubs have practice facilities and organized practices to help you get started.

I would strongly recommend any newbie checking out a DockDogs club for help in getting started. You can go to the DockDogs forum and scroll down and see all the local club message boards.
