I also wonder if the stores that are closing are planning on turning strictly to internet/catalog sales. More and more ppl are buying online. One day malls may become obsolete.

I knew that Talbots has been struggling and a few of their stores near us have closed.

Pretty scary.

I am amazed at how many stores and businesses are closing now. I think it's a true reflection of the amount of unethical lending that was going on. For 5+ years, people just lived on borrowed credit--using credit cards to finance a lifestyle, using home equity to purchase cars and vacations etc. So scary. With everthing tightening up right now, the ripples can be felt all over the US.

maybe i'm price-conscious, or probably cheap...who knows...but i have found recent retail store sales to be pretty disappointing.

i really don't want to pay $80 for a plain cotton cardigan... does anyone know of any "real" sales going on?

to see the entire list myself....

and when you all see a REAL sale...please let me know. things are still too pricey if you ask me.

Less places for me to waste money on CRAP I/we don't need! Though it stinks for the people who are losing jobs.
