We frequent the Outer Banks several times a year. This is a photo of moon jellies washed up on the beach, thousands of moon jellies stretching down the beach. It's not uncommon to find some washed up but this was more than I'd ever seen before. They don't sting, you can still swim if they're in the ocean and you usually don't notice them. I imagine if this many were floating around out there with you, you'd know it.

Just finished the paint on this car. I had one of these in high school except it was a convertible. I sure do miss that car. Fun times!

    Aye Mates,
I captured this photo yesterday of life in the vertical world of the wee woodpecker. I enjoy coming up with interesting titles for me photos, thus the self explanatory title on this one.

    "PECK-A-BOO"

The little bird kept poking his head out from behind the branch he was on, trying to catch me moving. Lot's o' positive feedback from folks seeing the photo, perhaps I will use it as inspiration for a future work in a pastel painting.

    Cheers,

Thanks everyone for sharing your photos so far. The are all great.

This is not a great one but it is the view from out seats a couple of years ago when my wife surprised me at Christmas with some top notch seats to see the Capitals play Ottawa. We are headed back there in the new year for another match.

    Thanks Everyone!!

    Aye Mates,
The photo has really motivated me into a rendering more quickly than expected. A work in progress and still with much to be done, here is the painting to date.

Winter does not stop us from hanging our laundry outside. Sometimes this happens.

For Jeannie's 50th birthday last year, we went to the Virgin Islands. On her birthday itself, we went on a chartered sailing and snorkeling trip from St. Thomas to Jost Van Dyke. It is a day we will never forget, under the canvas and in the sun and breeze it was just a perfect day.

Jost Van Dyke is a very small island of about 3.5 square miles and 300 people. When we got to the Great Harbour at Jost Van Dyke and waded ashore we went to Foxy's for lunch. After drinking, err having lunch, we went into the gift shop to look around. We came out of the gift shop and, to our amazement, Foxy himself was sitting there in a plastic beach chair just looking around and enjoying the day. So, we walked up and introduced ourselves and had a bit of a chat. Foxy regaled us with some of his scatalogical poetry and we had a great visit. We asked another tourist there if they would take our picture and they did. He is quite the celebrity for those familiar with his bars and mentions in Kenny Chesney songs!

Truly a special treat on a special day on a special trip. So much fun!

I was fortunate to photograph this cardinal after a snowstorm in Goderich, in 2009.
