Lets get some posts going in the old OT.
Share a random photo you took that you love and give a little background story with it.
I'll start. This is the most crisp and high quality photo I have ever taken with my old iPhone 5c. For some reason iPhone photos are hit and miss but this one is just perfect. It is my birthday last year in Vegas. We had just had the breakfast buffet at The Mirage where Bud Light is included. I had Eggs Benedict, hashbrowns, bacon and two Bud Lights to start the day. Wife and I are waiting at the bus stop in front of the Mirage Volcano to head to the TaylorMade Golf course to cash a Groupon for 9 holes of golf, cart and two beers.

I took this just before sunset over the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward, WI

We did a guided tour on the road to Hana when we were on Maui back in March. We stopped at some fresh water pools created by waterfalls and jumped into a few of them. I was the only one of the four of us who would jump into this one. It was about a 10 foot leap into the pool, and it went back into a cave. The water was COLD. I mean COLD! I'm the fat pale guy, the skinny tan guy was our guide. Really good guy, and he showed us a lot of really cool stuff we'd have never found on our own.

The company I work for has been doing some work at the Philly airport, we have to put these checkered flags on our trucks, like a pilot would be able to see the flag but not the truck.

My dog show friend and I flew into Maryland to go to the Potomac Labrador Specialty. This picture was taken in April 2012, on my iPhone 4 (LOL!). We had come a day early, for a breeder seminar that evening, but had the daytime free, so we drove our rental car around for a couple hours. We got out of the car at a rest stop, to stretch our legs, then read the plaque, and I shot this picture. I have absolutely no idea where it is located and don't recall what the plaque said, I should have taken a picture of that too, oops. Somewhere in Southern Frederick Maryland.
I love the colors, the lighting, and the memory of a great time with a good friend.
Edited to add, I did a google search on my image, and I think I found it, 12 -Pounder Napoleon Cannon on the Best Farm, Monocasy National Battlefield Maryland.
The image I found in my search:

I could have driven myself insane searching for just the right 'random' photo to share.
Here I am at a beach, which one I can't remember, one or two (or three?) winters ago. No I didn't do a face plant. I fancy myself a photographer (in reality I'm not very good) and was trying to get the right, interesting angle on a plant. Faye caught me in the act.

We bought a new home in Colorado. On our first morning in the house, this was our view from the living room. I believe the Good Lord rolled out the welcome mat for us.

We often go out on the desert, sometimes we pack a lunch and picnic. Sometimes we stay late after dark and shoot the stars. I take lots of photos out on the desert. There is a lot of wildlife and scenery so the SKY is the limit. My photo assistant, (Opie), loves the desert shoots. He helps me set up then guards my chair, ready to fight off alligators that might come roaming by looking for trouble. This cactus was 15 ft plus tall and along the side of the trail so it made a nice model.

We had moved to Alaska, and one night we were driving on the old Seward highway and saw a beautiful sunset.
