    Aye Mates,
I ran into a bit o' a mental block on this piece with regard to how I might finish the background. Last night I placed the painting on the table in me studio and just gazed at it until a bit o' a creative epiphany hit me. I am adding a woodland marsh / wetland laying to a rearward and low perspective relative to the woodpecker and the viewer.

I still have lots of detail to add, but I am back on track and working diligently on it. I hope ye enjoy seeing me approach to the creative process. :-)

    "PECK-A-BOO" (a work in progress)

    Cheers,

Good background, sets off the bird beautifully.

Sometimes I have to step away from a project too. Let me see, there is an almost finished quilt that I have stepped away from about 6 months ago trying to decide how to finish it, LOL. Sometimes walking away and letting my mind clear brings a whole new perspective.

    FRAN,
It's good to recognize when we need to step back and organize our thoughts.
