    Follow Up On Doctor Appointment

Follow up with the GI doc today and results of MRI. Oh, how I was hoping there was some improvement but knowing a true diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis is a lifetime diagnosis.

NOT FOR ME! MRI showed absolutely no evidence of pancreatic disease. Initial MRI showed irritation/disease. Doc did mention that there was always the possibility of cancer, which has been a background worry. He did say if it was cancer, I would be gone by now. Also, results could have confirmed chronic pancreatitis. Apparently what was going on was the soft, dense collections of bile trying to pass through the bile duct which in turn irritated the pancreas. Gallbladder out, recovery time, being true to the low fat diet and TA DA!

Believe me, I know just how lucky I am. Joined a pancreatitis group and those with acute/chronic pancreatitis are in constant pain, living with tubes and shunts and dying from this horrible invisible disease.

For now, per the doc, slowly decrease the Creon (enzyme) and slowly increase fat in the diet. Doc fully expects a complete recovery. One more follow up MRI in another year. Doctor was all smiles. His only comment was that it was extremely rare for him to be able to give a patient this news, made his day. Hey, made my day too!

Never doubt the power of Lab Board Mojo. THANK YOU ALL!

Hot dogs, great news. OOOPPPPSSS hot dogs are too fatty, how about super sweet potatoes!!! Love to hear that the dr. can shake his/her head and say-'incredible'. But then we all know you are one tough lady and can work thru problems.

    So happy for you.
