They're higher than Boomer now. Some spots, I sink to my hip. Had to dig the side door out from under a huge snow drift yesterday. This is the most snow I've ever seen since moving here. Don't get me wrong - I love snow. I hate shoveling it though. So yeah, more snow in the forecast. Yay for crisp, cold walks. Boo for shoveling. Yay for natural workouts, camaraderie with neighbours, and rosy cheeks. Boo for shoveling. Yay for snow plows keeping the roads driveable. Boo for creating more shoveling opportunities. Yay that I can complain about something as trivial as this.
Don't mind me. I'll get over myself. I'm procrastinating because I have work-work to do.

There is definitely truth to the saying, "too much of a good thing". Be careful so you don't hurt yourself with all that extra exertion.

Take it easy, slow and steady, lots of breaks. I love snow too but I am glad we have a snow blower. And I'm really grateful to the younger neighbour next door who has a humungous driving tractor type one that he can do all 10 driveways on our short street with in about an hour. Our street is like that, everybody does somebody else's if they are not home yet or sick or something. This morning though, we have ice. I'm surprised the school bus just went by, yesterday they were called off.

I am actually jealous of your Canadians. Well in more ways than one, but on the subject of snow. Here in Michigan in the snow belt the last 2 years we have got next to nothing. Just warm rain, our mosquito season has gotten longer, ticks are showing up more frequently because it doesn't get cold enough to kill them off. Was 40's, 4 for you Canadian here yesterday and rain, supposed to be 50, 10 celcius, this weekend. For Michigan, in February, 10 years ago we would easily have a couple foot of snow. White Christmases are getting rarer. We had one this year, but first I remember in a long time.

Jeff it was 72 here today, supposed to get 4 inches of snow tomorrow. Crazy.
Jeff. same here. Very little snow compared to past years.
Love snow but hate driving in it. Being retired fixed that, LOL. Shoveling is my revenge against it. Prefer shoveling at night, cold, crisp, nose can't run because it's frozen, crunch of snow underfoot, bright stars above. OK, doing it once or twice is OK then it's too much.

Thanks, everyone. I know there are bigger things out there to worry about but I've injured my shoulder before shoveling snow. Now I have exercises to do before & after. Not that I always do. I guess I don't want to admit I have to do them now.
Winter patterns seem disrupted everywhere. Warm, cold, warm. It's nuts. I bought a pair of snowshoes & poles yesterday. Nothing fancy. Mostly to get around after a big snow fall when the plows haven't made their full rounds yet. I'd leave the car at home and snowshoe to work. If I were really serious about snowshoeing, I'd get a set from MSR.
I totally hear your barking (pun, ha). It's been like that here too. I am feeling very sore these days. Its very much a shovel, shovel, shovel then ice pic, ice pick situation this year. I have to clear the frozen crusty snow off a good part of the yard too the other day and then shovel it off to make a path for Remy who is on the dl right now. Snowshoeing around the house is something I am going to do later to pack some paths down for Remy...More snow is falling and suppose to pick up this afternoon.
I just got to my NH house yesterday and couldn't even get in the house. It will be about 3 days clearing walkways, decks, roofs, etc. A plow guy does the driveway. It was worse because we got pounded in MA over the last couple weeks and prevented me from coming to NH so it made it worse. Had to snow blow a path for dogs in their fenced in yard..
