Update on My work with Service Dogs

Things have been going well. I am having a meet and greet for all the students and their dogs in training next month.

We had to make a tough decision and find a home for the dog I was working with. It was causing its owner handler way too much anxiety due to being reactive. We are looking for another dog for him. Good news is we found the dog a great home.

I'm glad to hear that this is turning out to be a really good experience for you. The dogs are certainly benefitting from your involvement.

That was a tough decision to have to make. Was the owner very upset? Even if it's not working out right I bet he/she still felt horrible, and you too. Now do you have to help find that person a new dog?

The handler owner wanted to quit the program. It was my job to figure out why. He seemed relieved when I told him my opinion of the situation. He will hopefully have a new prospect dog in the next 2 - 3 weeks. This organization mainly deals with rescues.

Tough decision. Hopefully the right dog will be found.

Thanks for helping both dogs and humans on their way to the best relationships.
