oh my gosh, so sorry and many many more good thoughts for you! I hope that other trial will work with your system. and yes, to all that about injections - surely there's a way to work around having to go there? or is it because its a trial that its so controlled?

My platelets were at 6 yesterday so I did another IVIg treatment. They increased Mycophenolate to 1000mg. They also had me stop all of my allergy meds, including nasal flushes. And I'm to stop daily multivitamins. They want to make sure nothing else in taking, even though not documented as lowering platelet counts, is lowering my counts.

As far as Nplate goes, I'm not sure why I can't do it myself. I'm thinking because of the dosing although I'm not sure. I'm well versed in injections. I've been Type I juvenile diabetic for 28 years. At this point they know something works. Right now we are doing the IVIg treatments and leaving all ITP med related dosing where it is, even if my counts get extremely elevated again. This will help us figure out what works and what doesn't. From there, we can decide what to do regarding Nplate.

FWIW I work as a medical laboratory technician for a competing agency. We do not do anything oncology related at my clinic so I highly doubt they'd let an RN administer an injection.

That being said, look at how much money the UW system has made off of me because my health system has a hematologist that won't take new patients. I was referred to UW because of this....
