    I sent her my resume

And she did not reply. She waited a few days then replied asking for my salary requirement. I answered and I am CERTAIN that they are well within the normal range for this position. That was more than a week ago. She does not reply and I cannot understand why. I guess I have no choice but to let it go? I feel I am PERFECT for this position. I have tons of experience but it is not recent, so I am willing to go way lower for my salary which you would think would make someone jump at the chance to bring me in. Tons of knowledge but less pay. So my follow up was to the tune of "Are you still looking to fill these positions? If so I'd love the opportunity to speak..." and nothing. Not a word. Not even a kind "sorry you're not a good fit". Nothing.
What do I do? Hard copy resume in the mail?

Unfortunately, "nothing" is a response. In her eyes, the conversation is over. I'd forget this one and keep looking.

It's annoying when employers don't even reply with a decline. But unfortunately that's how it works. You shouldn't wait for them and keep looking. I wouldn't lower my salary requirements either. You ask for what you deserve. Period. It says something about you. If I was hiring someone who asked for a really low salary for that position then I would question their qualifications.

I worked for a company that did hiring assessments for other companies. Salary Requirements is a big point. They weed out individuals basically by thinking that anyone taking less than they were making before for a new job are not good long-term candidates. And you can cut out a whole group of folks. I think the job market is still very competitive so there are plenty of candidates to choose from. Tons of experience doesn't always equal a good candidate either. I went on an interview at a company, I swear, the job was IDENTICAL to what I had been doing and I was doing a lot more than their managers were doing, bringing in a ton of new knowledge and cost-saving ideas. By the time I interviewed with the person that I would be directly under, I honestly believe they chose NOT to hire me because I would have made that last supervisor, I got dumped because I would have been a detriment to HER job security.

You can do a phone call follow up or just let it go. If you can grab them for the interview, you might as well let it go.

    Ah. sorry.

For what it's worth, I've always filled in salary requirement. One job I knew I was perfect for and wanted really bad was a new start up medical imaging business Boss had to go to the board to OK what I wanted because they wanted to just as bad.

I'm sorry. My husband who is not looking right now was approached by a company recently, told all kinds of things, went through the interview process and they just dropped the whole thing. Not even a courtesy call to say they'd found someone else. It's been weeks.

Rude, rude, rude. They completely wasted his time. It's the way of the world now. Beyond gross.

I just took an interview, so first they approached me and said similar salary but work from home and more growth. so figured it will save ma my commute and also a work from home means we can sell our house and move to the carolinas.
the process was a 3 hr exam. math exam online on a website. the recruiter told me that i am the only guy who passed this crap. then 2 physiological tests. so after over 5 hrs invested they wanted to talk but said i would need to travel 50% of the time to there facility which is 250 miles away.when my commute is 20 minutes now and staying at home. oh i might make a little less.

I had one more , when the lady told me i am too technical for the position on the phone where i interviewed for a technical lead position.

Another was even crazy they were interested and trump won . being a company on alot of govt contracts they told me no go till they find out what trump is up to.

i am not activity looking as i do make great salary, have excellent benefits even pension but the job is boring with no growth and working for a horrible boss. i am 40 so 20 more yrs of this crap i can retire rather wealthy but bored out of my mind. so i am searching and being picky. But strangness continues

from 2018 its mandated that interviews do not include no salary question. for now all company`s put the burden to establish baseline on your current job. wonder what craziness that is going to start.

Some background to the story: it is mortgages. I worked in that industry before the credit crash 2009. Since then I have been at my current job and trying to get back in. All the products have changed but the basic foundation for how to do the job well-it is ingrained in me. Since I have been out for 8-9 years I expected to come back in at a lower salary-kind of comparable to someone with less experience. I also explained that I would be willing and excited to take on a position a step under what I used to do-just to get back in. I really loved it and I have wanted to get back to it but since things stabilized a bit I wasn't able to find anything within driving distance. Then I saw this. In 2015 I sent my resume to this company and they said they'd get back to me. Turns out (looking back in my emails) this was the same exact manager. Back then she didn't ask for my salary requirements. This time she did. I don't even know if she realizes I emailed her 2 years ago. I didn't know it was the same person until I looked back in my folders. Long story short-I was known as a really good processor then and it boggles my mind that I cannot for the life of me get an interview to get back in.
It sucks but I guess you are all right-it's not meant to be.
