I honestly think you should reply. It can't hurt. Are they interviewing a lot of people for this job? That can take a long time, too.
ugh. I didn't even think of it. I have not replied to her last- do you think I should? ask her if I can bother her yet again...lol

Thank her for the reply and ask when she thinks you will hear from her next. Then follow up based on that timeframe.

If they haven't settled on a job description how can they be seriously interviewing for this job?

My friend went in for an interview when they didn't even have an official position. They liked her so much that they created one. It took them a couple of weeks to get the paper work in order. Sometimes companies just interview for the hell of it to see what's out there. She's starting her new job next week.

Well, they know they need to hire more people based on the work. The work flow also is in need of revamping so they know they want more people its a matter of do they want more experience or less and do they want it in the processing or the underwriting areas or do they want to integrate...so that part I believe. I do think she brought me in so quickly because of my background experience. Now it is a matter of them getting their stuff together and making a decision.
Based off this-I plan to reply today with another thank you so much (with hints of underlying PLEASE TAKE ME LOL) and do I go with:
A. Do you have a time frame in which you expect to be firm in your plans?
or
B. When might I hear from you again?
or
C. Will you let me know either way?
thanks everyone for you advice on this. I appreciate you all taking the time to join this thread.
I would go with something like..."what is your timeframe in which you expect to be firm in your plans? If I don't hear from you in a couple of weeks, I check back in with you."
Don't give them the opportunity to just answer yes or no to your question.
all of my wife's job interviews ended with her being notified of getting the job very quickly, like at end of interview or within an hour or 2 by phone. all her interviews where she didnt get the job she never heard back. Hope you get the job of your dreams, stay positive.

Another update:
So I replied with a simple thank you so much, I look forward to hearing from you (that was Monday).
Today I get my daily Indeed.com update with my list of job posting that fit my search criteria. Today the first job I see is this very same one I am praying for!!!!!!
Of course my first thought was that omg she was not even professional enough to say that I am out of the running!! And I was mad and confused as to why someone would mess with me this way....then I thought...well, they didn't advertise on Indeed in March when I first saw on their FB page that they are hiring. So maybe they didn't get many more applicants besides me, hence putting an ad out. I can be negative and say well they want recent experience that I don't have so I'll never get back into this industry. Or I can be positive & say well maybe they just need more than one spot to be filled (which is true) and that maybe they have not ruled me out yet.
Unbelievable situation I am in trying to get this job. ugh. I usually give up by now. Still confused. I don't want to be positive just because I don't want to give up hope. I want to be realistic, not gullible....
They could have been required by someone to actually post it before they actually hire someone. You know...jump through all of the hoops and loops to make sure everything is completely above board and transparent.
You could always say that you saw the job posting on Indeed, and did they need you to resubmit anything to still be in consideration for the position.
