How awful. I was reading about another trooper who got attacked by 3 men. Their intent was to slit his throat. While dragging him into the woods the officer managed to free his hand and press a button that released his K9 from the car. His German Malinois attacked the men and saved him. The officer got away with injuries. Not sure if they caught the guys but the dog was covered with their blood.
