I was feeling really dragged down, probably because of lack of sleep during Nikki's ordeal and it's a holiday so I got up this morning, said, I don't think so, and went right back to bed. Got up and my husband had cleaned the kitchen, gone through the fridge and cleared out old food, vacuumed the living room, taken care of the dogs and done five loads of laundry, mostly dog related. He still can't go down the basement stairs so he had to go down the driveway to switch out laundry over and over again.
I told him that I really appreciated what he had done and he said, "Thank you for doing everything around here for the last five months." I laughed because I didn't really think about it. When your spouse is incapacitated you just kick in but he said, "No seriously. It can't be fun to have someone sitting in a chair asking for things while you're running around taking care of business then saying that he can't help you."
It was just super sweet. And we're both thrilled that he can get around now.

Awwwww!
IMHO, better than chocolate or flowers. Giving of himself for your benefit is a true gift of love.

That's worth even more than an "awwww". He proves over and over that he's a keeper!
