Oh Cool I was actually going to go there 2 years ago but they were still recovering from some sort of flooding from the year prior. Maybe I have to make a plan on getting there next year.

Yes there was some pretty bad storm and flooding that cause a lot of damage in that area. This picture shows the damage it cause in the park.

While we were fishing in the canyon if started to rain a bit. I thought to myself "this would a really crappy place to be if a flash flood came through".

Great pictures. I love this area. I am hoping to get there this fall. The elk bugling during the rut is amazing to hear.

I went in July so the parks' trails were clear. Stayed in a rental house near the town centre and one day an elk in velvet came into the back yard about 30' from the back porch. A magical moment.

The drive up Big Thompson Canyon was, um, an adventure. My chauffeur had a near-new 6 cylinder Accord and pushed it. Hard. Really hard.

Anyway it's a part of the world I'd like to see again.

What a good trip. I haven't been able to see your photos as weather affects our internet and they were so slow to load they timed out. I can see them now, great trip.
