Faye went to Goderich yesterday and visited family. She had time to visit the Square Brew Brewery, coming home with a growler of Square One Pilsner. What's a growler? It's a container of beer, anywhere from 32oz. to one gallon. This is 32oz., which they filled and capped while Faye watched.
It was just right to share on our shady deck during the first really hot afternoon of the summer, when the temperature hit 33C or 91F.
We hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I like to grab a growler from a couple of local breweries when I visit some friends. I did the Steam Whistle Tour a couple of weeks ago and will post some photos when I get a chance.
Enjoy the Pilsner. I am a big fan of the Pils.!!

I've never heard the term "growler" before. Is there a meaning or story behind it? How were things in the "Prettiest Town in Canada?"

Growler-I learned a new word today and it does not even pertain to dogs. WOW that beer looks good on your patio, also great picture of two wonderful, loving people. You both are blessed to have found each other, so drink up to celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard of a growler, I usually think of them being glass though. I don't drink much beer but I'm betting watching it bottled or canned at a craft brewery would make it taste especially fine! Always a pleasure to see you guys!
From Wikipedia: History[edit]
The term likely dates from the late 19th century when fresh beer was carried from the local pub to one's home by means of a small galvanized pail. It is claimed the sound that the carbon dioxide made when it escaped from the lid as the beer sloshed around sounded like a growl.[9]

I went up to see my Mom and take her out to my brother's place. Had a very pleasant day sitting outside and chatting. Took a drive to the beach and almost every parking spot was taken. Saw a few people in swimming. I imagine there will be more in next weekend with the upcoming heat wave.

barry581 it tasted great after both of us spent some time puttering in the yard after she got home!
Look forward to seeing your photos. I prefer pils and lagers over ales.
Thank you Fran!
Snowshoe, I had never heard the term before moving to Canada!
Blackboy98, you are very kind. I am indeed very blessed and hope Faye feels the same.
smartrock, I also associated it with glass.
