More light. Maybe not so bad.
It has rained so much here it's not even funny. We are going through yet another unpredicted rainstorm. It was supposed to be some showers.
Heard sounds like a baseball bat was being slammed against a hard piece of plastic. I thought it was a predator but couldn't think how. Took a peek and all of the animals were calm. So I changed out the batteries in my head lamp, got my baseball bat and went outside to check it out. The sounds stopped before I went out.
This is a branch from our maple tree. That's how big our maple tree is. So . . . that's the back of my riding mower and my rototiller is to the left of that. Somewhere. For the love of Pete. At least it missed the chickens. I guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Hope the goats are hungry.

Lucky for the chickens. Wow.

I'll say the chickens and your equipment was lucky. Now just some clean up. Be careful that there are not branches hanging above the one the came down.

That's the reason we had to take our maple down. Glad all is OK.

Glad all your animals and people were ok.

Glad it missed the chickens.

There's actually no good reason for it to have missed the chickens since it was right overhead. It looks like it didn't snap but split horizontally and as a result it swung to the left instead of going straight down. This is going to be a problem as time goes on.
Turned out to be a happy accident! Our tree guy came this morning and cut it down. Now I have light for a much larger area where I was planning to put in a fall garden near the house which is great because our field is still really soggy.
