Yeah, the air's too thin. The planes can also sink into the tarmac as I recall. That's what I used to call a non-day. Take care.

Ughhhh.....are you able to stay comfortable? I wouldn't be able to stand it......It was 96 here yesterday, which is way too hot for me. Today was 86, which is still uncomfortable to me, but then I'm a wimp in the heat! Just need to stay where the AC is!

All the take off data is based on field altitude, altimeter, and temp which allows the pilot to compute all needed info for taking off. The charts stop at 120 degrees, so there is no way for a pilot to compute rotation speed, reject speed etc.

Yikes. When I got into my car after work yesterday, the temperature read 121. But after about 5 minutes or so, it will adjust to the correct temperature, so I was happy it dropped to a cool 108. I laughed at my co-worker who has black leather seats in his car.

I will gladly take 108 over what you have there.

    Now that's waaaaaay hot.

My dad flew cargo planes (C-47s) in North Africa in WWII. On really hot days they changed the policy of filling the cabin until it 'looked about full' to 'maybe not as full'. There's a great story in Ernest K. Gann's book Fate is the Hunter about taking off on a hot day with a full load.
