    Steam Whistle Beer Tour

We went to a Yankees Jays game back in June and decided to do the Steam Whistle Brewery Tour before the game.

Steam Whistle is a Pilsner beer. The company was founded by three guys that were fired from Upper Canada Brewery after Sleemans bought the company. They operate out of the "RoundHouse" which is an old locomotive repair facility of CP Railway. We learned that when they bought the property there were structural concerns so they have to take the building apart and rebuild. They used the same materials to put it back together so all of the large timber is still there.

The Roundhouse has a bar, patio and small kitchen for eats. We have been there several times before games. It's right across from the Aquarium, CN Tower and Skydome. The place has been packed every time we have been there. The beer is pretty reasonably priced for Toronto. And it never fails, somebody always tried to order a Canadian or Bud Light.

The tour takes about half an hour. You get a headset to listen to the tour guide. There are a few packages you can sign up for the basic one gets you a free beer and a helping of samples afterwards. It's not that big a place. A few tanks, a line and package area. I thought it would be much bigger.

I know I took some photos of the place outside but I can't find them.

    Thanks Everyone!!

Andrew and I need to take that tour sometime when we are in the Toronto area. I'm looking forward to the opening of the Cowbell Brewery, in Blyth, sometime in mid-August I believe. Guess their beer has been brewed elsewhere. I like the Absent Landlord.

If you plan on taking the tour which I recommend you have to make a reservation online probably a week ahead of time or as soon as they allow it. It sells out quickly. We stopped in a couple of times without a reservation and could not get in. They never took reservations on Fridays and Saturdays previously but seem to do so now.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Yeah, a brewery tour, a Jays game (missed the Astros), and MEC. I seem to remember there were some rail cars outside, were they still there?
    Andrew, Faye, Fitzi, and Lucy

Not gone, only gone on ahead - Bruno, Rex, BoJo, Kendal, Kingsley, Moonpie, Avis, Corndog, Stella, and now Achilles

My daughter is off to see the Astros this weekend. Yes there are a couple of train cars there. The Toronto Railway Museum is right beside it, same property basically. We have never been there.
    Thanks Everyone!!
